HOUSTON – Feb. 8, 2016 – Westfield High School student Oralia Cantu has received Honorable Mention in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for her painting titled “Something in the Air.”

The regional competition, hosted by the Harris County Department of Education, drew more than 8,100 submissions from Harris County schools and over 6,000 of those were art entries.

Cantu will be recognized along with other award recipients at a reception this month. Her instructor at Westfield is Todd Stevens.
