HOUSTON – March 11, 2016 – With almost 40 years of combined driving experience, Spring ISD bus drivers – Leo Wong, Donna Ralston, Jorge Barragan and Jennifer Moir – took the top four spots during the Annual District Road-E-O Competition held Feb. 27 at the Spring ISD Transportation Department.
Drivers from Spring, Conroe and Magnolia demonstrated their driving and aptitude skills while vying for the opportunity to advance to the regional level of competition. The drivers put their skills to the test in 10 precision driving events and a written exam over general and commercial driving and related topics.
“The school bus Road-E-O is an exciting and important event for our department and staff. Our drivers are key players in ensuring students can safely access their education,” said Keith Kaup, Spring ISD transportation director. “It also provides an opportunity for these drivers to enhance their safe-driving skills.”
They now advance to the Regional Road-E-O on April 16 at the Spring ISD Transportation Department where they will compete against drivers from the Huntsville, Galveston and the Houston area. Top participants at the Regional Road-E-O move on to compete at the state level.
