HOUSTON – March 7, 2016 – The Spring ISD Education Foundation hosted a luncheon recently at Shirley Acres to recognize and thank the foundation’s lead donors for the 2015-16 school year. Twenty-one lead-gift partners along with the Spring ISD employee group were recognized for their support.
A highlight of the program was a presentation by recent grant recipients from Ponderosa, Northgate Crossing and Jenkins elementary school who spoke in detail about the positive impact of foundation grants that fund innovative projects and provide 21st century learning experiences. The three schools are introducing their fourth- and fifth-grade students to the exciting areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) through a project called “STEMulating Young Minds through Robotics” that was funded by Education Foundation grants.
The annual event has traditionally featured one of Spring ISD’s high school choirs. This year, the award-winning Spring High School Chamber Choir, directed by David Landgrebe, entertained guests with a variety of selections.
