HOUSTON – June 28, 2016 – The Spring Independent School District will administer the 2016 State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR) End-of-Course exams July 11-14 to middle school and high school students who need to retake the test. The tests will be administered at Dekaney, Spring and Westfield high schools. Retesters from all Spring ISD middle schools, Carl Wunsche Sr. High School, Early College Academy and the ASAP program should report to the high school located within their attendance zone. Transportation will be provided for all retesters whether they attended summer school or not.
Following are the testing days and subjects that will be administered: Monday, July 11 – English I; Tuesday, July 12 – Algebra I; Wednesday, July 13 – English II; and Thursday, July 14 – Biology and U.S. History in the morning and U.S. History in the afternoon. Students that need to retake both Biology and U.S. History will be given a 30-minute lunch period between the two tests.

- 6:10 a.m. – Bus stop pick up
- 6:30 a.m. – Students arrive/breakfast is served
- 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. – Testing
- 2:00 p.m. – 1st bus pick up at school
- 3:30 p.m. – 2nd bus pick up at school for students with extended time
Thursday, July 14
First Session
- 6:10 a.m. – Bus stop pick up
- 6:30 a.m. – Students arrive/breakfast is served
- 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Testing (Biology or U.S. History)
Second Session
- 11:40 a.m. – Bus stop pick up
- 12:00 noon – Students arrive
- 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. – Testing (U.S. History)
- 1:30 p.m. – 1st bus pick up
- 6:00 p.m. – 2nd bus pick up for students with extended time or that participated in both sessions
Bus stops are located at designated elementary schools. See Bus Stop Locations. Students should be at the bus stop at least five minutes before their designated pick-up time.
