HOUSTON – Aug. 23, 2016 – Weeks of planning and preparation paid off on Monday, Aug. 22 when almost 37,000 students and about 5,000 employees welcomed the 2016-17 school year at campuses districtwide. Highlights of the occasion, including visits by Superintendent Dr. Rodney Watson, were commemorated during the day with photos, video and social media postings.
