HOUSTON – Feb. 16, 2017 – Spring ISD Board members were given an implementation timeline of bond projects Thursday during the monthly work session. The projects which include new buildings, technology upgrades and purchases as well as deferred maintenance projects were outlined in the $330 million bond referendum approved by voters last November.
“More than 80 percent of the bond’s resources are for projects that directly impact students,” said Superintendent Dr. Rodney E. Watson. “A new middle school, additional instructional technology, a new campus for Roberson Middle School, three ninth-grade centers and the expansion of full-day prekindergarten programs are all in support of our goal of increasing student achievement.”
Although no building construction projects will begin in 2017, other district improvements are already underway, including several infrastructure projects – to support new instructional technology in our classrooms – and the purchase of new school buses to support the increased transportation services.
