The Spring Independent School District Board of Trustees has launched a new recognition program for staff. The Employee Excellence Award will recognize district employees who exemplify the district’s guiding principles and core values.
“Although our district has a Teacher of the Year program that recognizes teachers who demonstrate excellence, this award will give us the opportunity to acknowledge all employees — including non-teaching staff — and highlight the priceless contributions they make to our district every day,” said Dr. Deborah Jensen, Board president.
Each month during the school year, the Board will select one employee for recognition at that month’s board meeting. Among the monthly winners, one will be named as the grand prize recipient at the Spring ISD Employee Recognition Banquet in May.
“We’re looking for employees who are bringing the Spring ISD mission to life and helping us reach each and every Spring ISD student,” said Justine Durant, Board assistant secretary and recognition committee chairperson. “For example, a clerk who is working extra hours to help her campus is an example of what we are looking for in the ideal nomination.”
Anyone can nominate an employee for the Employee Excellence Award by completing the online recognition form, however board trustees and members of the superintendent’s cabinet are not eligible. For more information and to access the form, go to www.springisd.org/employee-recognition.
