HOUSTON – Aug. 25, 2017 – Spring High School will hold a community fundraiser to benefit the school’s staff and students who are still feeling the impact of the recent flooding. The event, which will be in conjunction with the school’s annual Meet the Teacher and Open House, will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5.
“We are so proud of the way our community and school came together immediately after the storm to show support for those who were suffering in the aftermath,” said Principal Diaka R. Melendez. “We are off to a good ‘second’ start to the school year, but we don’t want to forget that many are still in need.”
The event will include a Potato Bar for a donation of $5, a silent auction of theme baskets prepared by school personnel and some large items donated by local businesses. In addition, entertainment will be provided by the school’s nationally recognized performing and visual arts groups.
