HOUSTON – Oct. 30, 2017 – Spring ISD parents and staff should expect to see extra traffic around 18 Spring ISD schools serving as polling places on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 7. Voting hours will run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Spring ISD has no items on the ballot this year as the Board of Trustees voted in September not to hold a trustee election in November because candidates for each open position were unopposed. Incumbent Rhonda Newhouse, position five, and Winford Adams, position four, will be sworn in and take office in December.
Spring ISD Police Chief Victor Mitchell urges motorists to drive slowly on school property and be especially cautious during the start of the school day and during afternoon dismissal. In addition to the schools, the district’s Child Nutrition Center at 15330 Kuykendahl, will also serve as a polling place.
Signs will direct voters to the designated voting areas in each facility, which are typically located in gyms, libraries or cafeterias.
