HOUSTON – Oct. 4, 2017 – Representatives from more than 150 colleges and universities will be at Dekaney High School from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 9 to provide information on admissions, programs and financial aid.
“This is a great opportunity for our students to meet with college representatives and to gather valuable information about college admissions and scholarship opportunities,” said Carlos Gonzalez, the district’s coordinator of college and career readiness. “While the College Night is perfect for our high school students, attending would also be a great opportunity for parents and students at the middle school level who want to start exploring their college options.”
For students interested in pursuing military careers, recruiters will be on hand to discuss those opportunities. The event is open to all Spring ISD students and will feature two financial aid information sessions. Students and parents are encouraged to bring any questions they may have with them to the event.
Although Oct. 9 is a staff development day with no classes for students, Gonzalez hopes that students will make plans to come out and benefit from all that the event has to offer. “This is really a great opportunity for our students; it’s a great way for them to learn more about what’s out there for them after graduation.”
