HOUSTON – June 19, 2019 – The Spring ISD Education Foundation has awarded over $64,000 in scholarships to more than 40 students graduating from Spring ISD high schools in June, in recognition of their hard work and talent.
“This year, we were pleased to include two additional scholarships for students,” said Foundation President Ken Grays. “The Rhonda Newhouse Scholarship and the Felicia Brooks Berguin Memorial Scholarship are welcome additions to our list of scholarship opportunities for students.”
The Education Foundation holds an annual scholarship competition each spring, distributing thousands of dollars among 11 named funds. The nonprofit organization works throughout the year to raise money to support Spring ISD students and teachers with fundraising efforts, including the annual Tee Up for Education Golf Tournament and community support during the foundation’s annual giving campaigns. In addition, Springway scholarships are funded through Spring ISD employee payroll contributions.
