HOUSTON – Aug. 20, 2019 – Due to the delay in opening the new district stadium, Spring ISD will be starting its football season at Leonard George Stadium, and construction of a new ninth grade center for Spring High School adjacent to Leonard George Stadium has affected football game parking for district home games.
“With the season kicking off next week, a 2019 Arrival/Parking Plan has been developed to ensure the safety of students and families attending the games,” said Willie Amendola, athletic director.
The plan includes arrival times, designated entrances and parking areas for fans, as well as teams, officials, bands, drill teams and cheerleaders. In addition, Spring ISD Police will direct traffic, and parking lot attendants will be on hand to assist with parking.
Fans are being asked to arrive at 6 p.m. and enter off Whitewood Road, about 1/4 mile east of I-45 off Cypresswood Dr. When that parking area is full, fans will be directed to McNabb Elementary School next to the Whitewood entrance. A free shuttle bus will be available before and after the game, for fans who park at McNabb.
“We appreciate your patience and cooperation while we work around these parking challenges and look forward to another great football season,” said Willie Amendola, athletic director.
