Nominations are now being accepted for the Employee Excellence Award sponsored by the Spring ISD Board of Trustees.
Anyone who is doing an outstanding job as a full-time Spring ISD employee is eligible, including teachers, custodians, secretaries, clerks, mechanics, bus drivers, nurses and counselors. The only requirement is that the person has been with the district for at least six months.
“We truly enjoy being able to celebrate employees who go above and beyond in their work every day,” said Board President Rhonda Newhouse. “It’s always a highlight of our day when we are able to surprise a well-deserving member of our Spring ISD family with a little recognition.”
She noted that anyone can nominate an employee, whether it’s a fellow staff member, supervisor or a parent. The key is to take the time to fill out the nomination form and to describe what makes the nominee a good candidate for the award. The deadline to submit nominations for each month’s award is the first Wednesday of the month at 5 p.m.
“We’ve made a commitment to recognizing employees on a monthly basis because we know there is a lot of great work going on across the district, and it’s important to be able to celebrate and encourage,” Newhouse said.
Recipients of the award receive a framed certificate, recognition pin and a check for $100. They are then eligible to compete for the grand prize of $1,000, awarded at the district’s annual Employee Recognition Banquet.
