Spring ISD students are encouraged to sign up now for the district’s virtual Summer Learning At-Home program, which will offer a series of options to meet the needs of all learners, from those needing extra help to those needing enrichment and acceleration opportunities.
“We have an exciting program this summer with both morning and afternoon sessions to accommodate our families,” said Chief of Curriculum and Instruction Khechara Bradford. “We are also running two blocks of Summer Learning At-Home, with the first scheduled for June 10 – 30 and the second slated to run July 7- 28.”
The district is asking families to sign up by June 2, for the first session and by July 1 for the second session so that organizers can plan and staff.
For students requiring grade-level support in order to be ready for the next school year, the sessions will include targeted tutorials in reading/literacy as well as STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics). For students looking for additional learning opportunities, the district is offering different enrichment camps depending on grade level, including AP boot camp, GT camp, STEAM Camp and Literacy Camp. There are also options for bilingual pre-K and kindergarten students, as well as for students in Special Education.
“With so many choices, we hope all families will consider signing up for at least one, if not both sessions,” Bradford said. “Summer Learning At-Home is a great way for students to have fun, keep learning and use their creative and critical-thinking skills.”
