The Spring ISD Communications team has earned 25 awards from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) in the organization’s 2021 National School Communication Awards program, including 10 top Awards of Excellence.
The annual school public relations contest drew hundreds of entries this year from across the country, including submissions from public and private schools and school districts, educational organizations and business partners. Each entry highlights work in education communication and marketing, encompassing print, electronic communications, video, audio, websites and social media campaigns.
“We’re really focused on telling the stories of Spring ISD and highlighting all of the wonderful achievements of our students and staff,” said Chief Communications Officer Sylvia Wood. “These awards are a reflection of the talent we have across the district, with each winning entry showcasing what makes Spring ISD such a great place to learn and work.”
Wood also noted the ongoing support for the work of the Communications department from Spring ISD Superintendent Dr. Rodney E. Watson and the Board of Trustees. “We’re very fortunate to have a district leadership team that values communications as a way to engage our employees and families,” she said. “Our goal is to always provide timely and accurate information because we know transparency is essential to building trust with our community.”
Watson said the awards help demonstrate the district’s continued commitment to keeping the Spring ISD community informed.
“I’m extremely proud of the level of excellence in communications, seen internally and externally within our community,” he said. “This recognition is another step toward the fulfillment of our promise to build a culture that connects the district to the community and celebrates the achievements of our students, staff and schools.”
According to the group’s website, NSPRA has recognized stand-out work in the field of school communication for more than 50 years. This year’s awards will be officially presented during the 2021 NSPRA National Seminar this July in New Orleans.
