Due to newly relaxed CDC guidelines for indoor masking, as well as a drop to single-digit numbers in new cases recorded in Spring ISD since December, Spring ISD will be moving from “mask required” to “mask recommended” in all district facilities and campuses.
This change will be effective on Friday, March 4, 2022.
Since March 2020, Spring ISD has been one of the safest in the Houston area when it comes to managing the incidences of COVID-19 cases and keeping our students safe, thanks to the unwavering support of our Board of Trustees and the perseverance of our parents, students and staff during a time of uncertainty and change.
We are now at a point in time in the pandemic when wearing a mask or not wearing a mask is an individual choice. Spring ISD families have a choice, based on their health needs.
The district will continue to put the health and well-being of students and staff at the forefront of our safety protocols. We will continue to offer mobile testing and vaccination sites. And we are going to continue to follow the data.
Should cases begin to spike again, and a shift back to “mask required” becomes necessary, Spring ISD will communicate that information to all parents, students and staff.
