Scholarship offers and financial aid awards for Spring ISD’s Class of 2022 are in, and this year’s graduating seniors have already broken all previous scholarship total records in the district, with more than $134 million awarded to this year’s class.
As of June 2, the Class of 2022 amassed $134,153,341 worth of scholarships and financial aid awards, up from the previous highest total of $117,870,189 in 2020 – a 13.8% increase.
The school with the most offers is Westfield High School. Graduating seniors there have been offered more than $40 million in scholarships. Students at Spring High School and Wunsche High School both came in at nearly $29 million each, Spring Early College Academy seniors were offered nearly $21 million, and Dekaney High School recorded over $15 million.
“The Class of 2022 reached a huge milestone this year, despite navigating in and out of a pandemic and all of the challenges that came with that,” Spring ISD Superintendent Dr. Lupita Hinojosa said. “A special thanks goes to all of the teachers, principals, and of course our college readiness counselors, all of whom have increased these opportunities for our graduating seniors. With their continued support, I know the Class of 2023 will be up to the challenge to exceed this total next year.”
Spring ISD held five graduation ceremonies on May 26-28 at Planet Ford Stadium for more than 2,000 seniors. For videos of the ceremonies or to download photos, click here.
