With graduations set to take place next week, Spring ISD recognized the top of the class students at the annual Valedictorian and Salutatorian Recognition Dinner, held May 23 at the Randall Reed Center.
The top two ranked students from Dekaney High School, Spring Early College Academy, Spring High School, Westfield High School, and Carl Wunsche Sr. High School were in attendance, along with their friends, family, and campus leaders.
“We are here tonight to celebrate the valedictorians and salutatorians of Spring ISD,” Superintendent Lupita Hinojosa said. “This remarkable achievement is undoubtedly just one of a long list of accomplishments these students will make in the coming years, and we cannot wait to see what’s in store for their future.”
The evening included remarks from special guests such as keynote speaker Linell Bonner, a motivational speaker and member of the Dekaney High School football team that went to the state championship in 2011, and Spring ISD Board of Trustees President Justine Durant.
“This is the result of more than a decade’s worth of hard work,” Durant said. “Countless nights spent studying, weekends spent dedicated to schoolwork, extracurricular activities, or volunteer work. Those habits created today will take these students far tomorrow.”
