Spring ISD is excited to announce that Pre-K applications will open April 1 for the 2026-27 school year, and the district is ready to welcome its newest learners. The earliest years of a child’s life are some of the most important for building the foundation of future success. Between ages three and five, children develop key skills in reading, thinking, problem-solving, and interacting with others.
“The years between ages three and five are some of the most powerful learning years a child will ever experience,” says Dr. Jennifer Bassett, Spring ISD Pre-K Coordinator. “Spring ISD Pre-K is designed to help students grow academically, socially, and emotionally so they enter kindergarten ready to thrive.”
The benefits of Pre-K extend far beyond the classroom year. Data from Spring ISD shows that students who attended our Pre-K programs consistently outperform peers who did not on 3rd grade STAAR Reading and Math assessments. In other words, Pre-K helps children start strong—and stay strong.
With applications opening on April 1, now is an ideal time for families to plan ahead and gather the required registration documents for the 2026-27 school year. Space is available for eligible students, and Spring ISD is ready to welcome its newest learners into classrooms where big learning begins early.
Applications for both PK3 and PK4 will be available starting April 1 on the Spring ISD Pre-K website
