Spring ISD’s Dekaney High School’s 4×200-meter boys relay team made history on Saturday, May 3 at the UIL 6A State Track and Field Championships in Austin, winning the state title and breaking their own school record with a blazing time of 1:23.56.

As the 2024–25 school year winds down, members of the Spring ISD Board of Trustees made surprise visits to several campuses on April 24 to present the Spring ISD Employee Excellence Awards—honoring individuals who consistently go above and beyond to support our students, families, and district community.

In a moving celebration of service and community spirit, the Spring ISD Family and Community Engagement Department hosted its Annual Volunteer Appreciation Reception on April 17. The event served as a heartfelt tribute to the extraordinary individuals whose dedication, compassion, and unwavering support help shape the lives of students and strengthen campuses across the district.

With smiles, applause, and the gleam of shiny, new framed certificates being passed from hand to hand, sixteen Spring ISD seniors took the next step toward their futures as they were honored during the 2025 Huntsman Scholarship Reception. Held in collaboration with the Huntsman Corporation, the reception recognized outstanding students across Spring ISD high schools for their achievements in STEM and business pathways.

Proud families and school staff gathered on April 17 inside Spring ISD’s Randall Reed Community Center at Planet Ford Stadium to celebrate the district’s ninth annual Future Educators Signing Day. The event honored 22 seniors from across Spring ISD high schools who have completed the district’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) education pathway.

What seemed like just another Saturday in April turned into an unforgettable morning for 60 senior girls in Spring ISD, who had the opportunity to find their dream prom dress—completely free of charge. Now in its second year, the Graceful Gowns Initiative once again brought joy, confidence, and a sense of empowerment to students preparing for one of the most significant milestones of their high school journey—prom night.

Parents with toddlers in tow, teachers clutching notebooks, and district leaders armed with folders, highlighters, and oversized planning sheets—each group came prepared. What united them wasn’t just their connection to Spring ISD, but a common challenge: a projected $13 million budget deficit looming over the upcoming school year. Together, they gathered with a shared determination to face it head-on and find real, practical solutions.

For 74 years, the unmistakable energy of the Spring Livestock Show & Fair has filled the Nagy Pavilion. The gathering marked a special spot on the calendar for students, families, and community members. It is the culmination of months and years of hard work from FFA students from across the district.

The morning air buzzed with energy as Spring ISD staff, partners, families, and board members gathered at Momentum High School on March 29 to kick off the district’s Attendance Matters Walk. The event, part of the district’s EVERYday Counts, Attendance Matters campaign, aims to reconnect with students who haven’t returned to class or are struggling with attendance.

Traditionally, adults are the ones teaching students a thing or two. However, at Dekaney High School’s cafeteria on Thursday evening, the roles were reversed as Spring ISD hosted its annual Gifted and Talented (GT) Expo. The student geniuses welcomed families, their fellow students, and staff to one of the district’s most anticipated academic showcases of the year. They say you learn something new everyday, and this day was no exception.
