HOUSTON – Nov. 10, 2015 – Both the Spring High Lions and Westfield Mustangs will be advancing to the state playoffs this weekend after securing first and second place in district 15-6A. This has been an especially sweet season for the Lions who defeated the Klein Oak Panthers 62-17 on Nov. 6 to take the title of 15-6A District Champs. The win secured the school’s first district championship in school history. The Mustangs defeated the Klein Bearkats 33-6 to earn their spot in the playoffs.
The Lions will play College Park at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13 at Leonard George Stadium in Spring, while the Mustangs travel to Turner Stadium in Humble where they will face Kingwood at 7 p.m.
Advance tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for students. They may be purchased at Spring and Westfield high schools and the Spring ISD Athletic Office, 16717 Ella Blvd. Admission at the gate is $8. For more information, call 281-891-6150.
