HOUSTON – Feb. 26, 2016 – Hundreds of people came to Dekaney High School for Spring ISD’s College and Career Expo. The Saturday event brought college representatives and area employers to the school, where they were able to meet with students and community members. Several representatives from Spring ISD’s academic programs were on hand to answer questions and showcase their programs.
Community organizations, including area police and other emergency responders turned out to provide information about careers and the services they provide. Parents and their children were able to interact with representatives at dozens of tables in the cafeteria and hallways of Dekaney, and workshops and activities were available for students of all grade levels.
Additionally, families were able to get information about applying for scholarships, financial aid for college, SAT preparation and making post-graduation plans from the district’s college and career counselors.
This is the fourth year that Spring ISD has hosted the community event.
