HOUSTON – Feb. 12, 2016 – The Dekaney girl’s basketball team received some visitors on their court during a recent after-school practice. KUBE TV’s High School SportsZone host Todd Freed, and Danny Hudson with Allegiance Bank, paid a visit to recognize the team’s performance this season.
With the television camera recording the scene, Freed and Hudson presented Coach Stacey Stroman and the Lady Wildcats with a plaque for being selected as the Allegiance Bank Team of the Week. Freed noted the team’s 31 straight wins during his report.
Coach Stroman was quick to note that dedication in her players, both past and present, was key for the team’s success. “We had good players early on who bought into the concept of the hard work that is required for success. They set the standard, and since then, our players work hard every day,” said Stroman.
The Lady Wildcats, with Coach Stroman, have had consistently successful seasons since the school opened in 2007.
The segment will air Saturday, Feb. 13, and Sunday, Feb. 14, at 6 p.m. on KUBE TV, Channel 57. The High School SportsZone program airs game highlights, interviews, and human interest stories about area high school sports programs.
