HOUSTON – May 23, 2016 – Spring ISD seniors are counting down the days until they make their once-in-a-lifetime walk across the graduation stage. Saturday, May 28 is the date of celebration, and approximately 2,253 students from across the district will participate in four ceremonies at the Richard E. Berry Educational Support Center.
“Graduation is an important milestone on a journey that began 12 years ago and will continue well into the future for the class of 2016,” said Superintendent Rodney E. Watson. “We are honored to have played a role in preparing them for that journey. We have seen them grow into young adults who are prepared to contribute, compete and lead in today’s global society. They are ready to be entrepreneurs, enroll in the colleges of their choice and take on careers they have dreamed about. Their options are limitless and I wish them all the best.”
All four district high school ceremonies will take place at the 8,000-seat Berry Center, 8877 Barker Cypress, Cypress, and will be approximately two hours long. The Spring ISD Board of Trustees, student leaders and school administration will also participate.
The location has ample parking for friends and family planning to attend, and law enforcement will be on hand to direct traffic. Health and medical services will also be available. The Berry Center prohibits air horns, balloons, signs, banners and flowers.
Graduates will receive admission tickets during their scheduled graduation practice. Guests will be allowed into the facility one hour before the start of the program.
All four graduation ceremonies will be streamed live on the district’s website www.springisd.org/graduation and YouTube channel youtube.com/SpringISDweb.
