Plan to Attend May 5 and Support these Worthwhile Causes
HOUSTON – April 5, 2017 – The Spring ISD Career and Technology Education Advisory Board Scholarship Fundraiser Luncheon and Auction will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, May 5 at the Hilton Houston North Hotel, 12400 Greenspoint Dr.
“Over the past eight years, the CTE Advisory Board has raised money to provide student scholarships for post-secondary goals, CTE teacher program scholarships for classroom innovation, and certification scholarships for students pursuing industry certifications,” said Seth Sharr, Spring ISD CTE Advisory Board president. “This event is an occasion for acknowledging student accomplishments and also for raising funds to continue our support of deserving students.”
The 10 seniors who will each be receiving a $1,000 CTE scholarship this year will be recognized during the luncheon as will five teachers who were awarded program grants totaling $6,121. In addition, the CTE Advisory Board awarded $6,143 for student certification exam reimbursements. There will be numerous opportunities at the luncheon for community members and business partners to show their support for the CTE programs and students who are pursuing post-secondary college and career options.
The CTE Advisory Board is seeking the support of businesses and community members at the event. Tables that seat ten are available for a tax-deductible donation in increments of $350, $500 or $1,000, and auction item donations and contributions to the scholarship fund are always welcome. Additionally, individuals can purchase tickets for $40 each.
