Prospective teachers are invited to learn about careers at Spring ISD at a special job fair on Dec. 2 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Dekaney High School.
“We want to reach out to new teaching graduates, as well as any mid-career professionals, to show them everything Spring ISD has to offer,” said Mike Walker, director of talent acquisition and retention. “We’re looking to build a strong pool of highly qualified candidates because it’s not too early to think about the 2018-19 school year.”
The job fair will give candidates an opportunity to speak with district recruiters, as well as principals and teachers. Applicants are encouraged to bring their resumes, transcripts and copies of certification. The district currently has a few vacancies for the right candidates.
Spring ISD offers a dynamic teaching experience just 20 miles north of downtown Houston. The district is committed to professional development and giving its teachers pathways for growth, whether in the classroom or central office.
The district’s starting teacher salary is $52,275, one of the highest in the region. In addition, certified teachers in certain hard to staff areas, such as math and bilingual education are eligible for stipends up to $4,200.
