HOUSTON – April 30, 2018 – Do something great for your mom on Mother’s Day weekend and encourage her to take part in the Spring ISD Wellness Fair where she can get a mammogram, a complimentary massage and take part in free health seminars.
“There’s no better way to let your mom know how much you care about her than encouraging her to take care of herself,” said Spring ISD Compensation and Benefits Director Pam David. “We are so excited about offering this wellness event to not only our employees but the entire Spring community.”

The Wellness Fair will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday, May 12 at Carl Wunsche Sr. High School, 900 Wunsche Loop, and will feature nearly 40 exhibitors providing information on everything from orthodontics to stress relief. Throughout the morning, Kelsey-Seybold will be holding sessions on different wellness topics, from working out to eating right.
Assured Imaging will be on site conducting mammograms. The mobile imaging service accepts most insurances. Those interested should reserve their spot by going to www.assuredimaging.com/SISD or by calling 888-233-6121.
The event is part of the district’s inaugural Fun Run and Wellness Fair designed to recognize the three-year mark of the district’s ambitious five-year strategic plan, Every Child 2020. For community members wanting to start the morning with a good workout, the district is hosting a fun run and walk at 7:30 a.m. The walkers will complete a 1.5 mile walk from Wunsche into Old Town Spring, and runners will compete in a 3-mile run.
Show your support by registering online for the race, priced at $15 for adults and $10 for students, through Friday, May 4 at 5 p.m. Same day registration will be available on May 12 from 6 a.m. to 6:45 a.m. at a price of $25 for adults and $20 for students. Proceeds from the event will go toward student scholarships.
For the Spring ISD campus that has the most participants taking part in the event, Camp Gladiator will give the entire school one free fitness session.
“Camp Gladiator is not only fun but it really gives you a great workout,” said David. “We appreciate them donating this special incentive to our campuses, and I hope we see a healthy competition among the schools to get the most turnout.”
In addition to the exhibitors, several food trucks will be on site with a variety of items for sale. Parking will be available in the student lot on the west side of Wunsche. The starting line for the Fun Run and the entrance to the Wellness Fair is on the back or north side of the school.
