In an effort to continuously improve how it communicates COVID-19 information, Spring ISD has updated the district’s COVID-19 online dashboard, offering additional details and data points for families, staff and other stakeholders to easily access. The changes are a response in part to recent feedback from parents and other members of the community.
“Our goal has been to offer as much transparency as we can around the case data in our district,” said Chief of Communications and Innovation Tiffany Dunne-Oldfield. “By doing so, we hope to empower our families to make informed decisions about what’s best for them and their students who are enrolled in our district schools.”
The latest updates to the district’s COVID-19 Tracker make it easier to view recent confirmed-positive cases in Spring ISD facilities and to track recent case patterns among students and staff. Users can now quickly view both the number of staff members and students who have tested positive over the last day at the top of the dashboard. In addition, 14-day case data for both students and staff is also displayed, making it easier for visitors to the site to track recent COVID-19 trends in the district.
Along with these additions, the tracker continues to display cumulative cases since the start of school, as well as offering the ability to filter cases by grade level and campus.
The dashboard is updated daily, often in real time as cases are confirmed and recorded in the system. The district also continues to report all of the local data to the Texas Education Agency each week, as required. The state is updating its website weekly.
