Looking for a safe and fun activity for your elementary or middle school student this Spring Break? Have them take part in our “Spring into Reading” program where they’ll have the opportunity to win a Kindle just by reading books.
All they need to do is to log onto the myON app, from my.springisd.org, and start reading. Remember to use their student username and password to access myOn, which features more than 6,000 books geared to a student’s reading level and interests. The contest runs from March 13 – March 21.
Upon return to school on March 22, staff will review the data on the number of books read. One student each at the middle and the elementary school level with the highest numbers will win a Kindle.
All students who participate can also help their campus earn a championship banner for most books read.
“We had a lot of success with a similar contest over winter break so we wanted to offer it again for students this spring,” said Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Professional Development Dr. Matthew Pariseau. “Reading is really a foundation for success in school and life so we want to encourage all of our students in grades K-8 to take part and enjoy some good books this spring break.”
