A total of 19 graduating seniors across Spring ISD each received $1,000 scholarships to help pursue their educational and career goals, thanks to the Spring ISD Career and Technology Education Advisory Board and community supporters.
For the second year in a row, the CTE Advisory Board announced its scholarship winners online because of the ongoing pandemic. This year’s theme, “2021: With CTE, Our Future is Clear,” represents the dedicated focus of students despite this year’s challenges.
“Our CTE programs have outstanding support from our business partners,” said CTE Director Cynthia Williams. “They put in the work to ensure our students are exposed to industry skills and standards while in school. Furthermore, they stepped up and supported our students with scholarships to help them continue their career journey beyond our doors.”
The district’s CTE program offers students a wide variety of pathways to explore, develop their interests and achieve industry certifications to help them be successful in college and careers.
“CTE programs give our students a competitive advantage in life by providing early access to the skills and experiences needed to be an asset in the workforce and community,” Williams said. “We are proud of the accomplishments of our graduates and this event gives us a chance to showcase and support them as they continue their path to success.”
Some of the pathways offered include Engineering and Health Sciences, Oil and Gas, Construction Management, and Auto Technology – all industries that seek well-trained people for high-paying jobs.
