The Dekaney and Westfield high school football teams extended their seasons Friday night, securing spots for next week’s regional playoffs.
Westfield defeated Klein Collins 41-38, and Dekaney defeated Cypress Falls 32-17. Westfield is headed to the regional semifinals for the seventh consecutive season and will try to seal a spot in the fourth round for the first time since 2019.
“We are proud of the talent and hard work of our students and coaches,” said Spring ISD Athletic Director Armando Jacinto, “The results we are having on the field are a reflection of the support we get from the community and the Spring ISD administration.”
Jacinto said Spring ISD athletics has a rich tradition of success, and Dekaney and Westfield’s victories are just another example of the program’s excellence.
