Another member of the Spring ISD Board of Trustees has earned the designation of Master Trustee, a program of the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB). Natasha McDaniel, who serves in Position 7 on the board, earned the Leadership TASB program as part of the 2023-24 class.

Members of the class made presentations of their findings following year long research on five specific critical issues in Texas public education. The 2024 Leadership TASB class had 33 school board members from across the state, and each one earned Master Trustee status – the highest designation recognized by TASB.
“Completing Leadership TASB has been a transformative journey for me personally and professionally. It has empowered me as a Spring ISD School Board of Trustees member,” McDaniel said. “Exploring eight districts across Texas offered valuable insights into their strengths, challenges, and innovations, which I am committed to leveraging to enhance and improve our district strategically. Learning alongside my school board colleagues cultivated a supportive community bringing together diverse perspectives and new ideas. Every aspect of my Leadership TASB experience has strengthened me to continue our work toward achieving equitable and excellent outcomes for every Spring ISD student.”
After the graduation ceremony June 22, Leadership TASB participants joined the ranks of more than 1,000 school board members statewide who are Leadership TASB alumni – including Spring ISD Board Vice President Winford Adams, Jr.
This year’s Leadership TASB program was held in conjunction with the TASB Summer Leadership Institute in Fort Worth. Over 1,000 school board members attended the Institute and received training on effective board governance. The weekend also included keynote addresses from education experts, as well as district showcases and networking opportunities.
McDaniel has been a part of the Spring ISD Board of Trustees since August 2021, when she was appointed to fill a vacancy in Position 7. She was elected to the position in November of that year. McDaniel earned a bachelor’s in early childhood education and a master’s in curriculum and instruction, and has previously worked as an elementary school teacher, a language arts specialist, a literacy coach, and classroom management coach.
