Premium Goods, a Houston-based boutique sneaker store, visited Dekaney High School on November 21 to surprise Auto Tech students with a fresh pair of Premium Goods x Adidas Campus sneakers. Along with the gift, Premium Goods announced it would donate a portion of the proceeds from the Adidas release to support the Dekaney Auto Tech program.
“It is an amazing opportunity,” Jennifer Ford, owner of Premium Goods, said. “The auto club is really important to us here, and we felt like it would really make an impact in these kids’ lives.”
As part of Adidas’ Cornerstone Initiative, Premium Goods links nonprofit organizations or community programs to its shoe releases, investing in education and giving back to the community. A connection within Spring ISD brought Ford’s attention to the impactful work happening at Dekaney High School, particularly within the Auto Club.
The sneakers feature a sleek yet classic design with an off-white base, vibrant red accents, and a unique velcro detail on the tongue.
Around 170 students, 53 staff members, and 16 administrators attended the event – every person that came through the gym brought another smile with them as they were very thankful and appreciative of the gesture.
“I’m blessed to receive these,” Senior Angel Casares said. “It means a lot that the district and the school care about their students like this. Thank you to Premium Goods as well. I know a lot of the students here are excited, so I’m happy about that.”
Once they got the shoes in their hands, the auto tech students unpacked the boxes and immediately began to try them on. They showed them off to each other, and took pictures with them on.
The shoes also gave some students the opportunity to receive an early holiday gift, allowing students to step into the season in style.
“I tell you what… it is such a special feeling,” said Dekaney Academy Leader Lesslie Foley. “When they get these shoes and then ask, ‘Why are you giving these to me?’ We can tell them that the reason is because they are special. This is a special group of kids, and they are our future.”
Through partnerships like this, Premium Goods continues to demonstrate its commitment to community engagement while leaving a lasting impact on the next generation. To learn more about the shoe and how you can support the Dekaney Auto Tech program click here.
