Somos Spring: Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month
At Spring ISD, Hispanic Heritage Month is more than a celebration — it’s part of our story. From Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, we proudly honor the history, traditions, and contributions of our Hispanic and Latino families who help make our district strong. Their voices, cultures, and accomplishments are woven into the daily life of our schools, reminding us that together, Somos Spring.
Throughout the month, we’ll highlight the richness of Hispanic and Latino heritage in fun and meaningful ways:
Music Mondays – Each week we’ll highlight a Hispanic artist or genre — from salsa and bachata to Tejano and mariachi — that has shaped music around the world.
Food Fridays – Enjoy fun visuals and stories about traditional dishes that bring families and cultures together.
Today’s Hispanic Heroes – Celebrate leaders in civil rights, education, science, politics, and the arts who continue to inspire future generations.
We also invite our community to join the celebration:
- Share Your Story – Post photos of campus and community events using the hashtag #SomosSpring and tag Spring ISD on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
- Celebrate Our People – Nominate a student, staff member, or community partner who embodies the spirit of Hispanic Heritage Month. Send a photo, a short description, and your name to communication@springisd.org for a chance to be featured on district social media.
This month and beyond, let’s come together to honor our heritage, uplift our voices, and celebrate the community that makes Spring ISD strong.
