HOUSTON – June 15, 2017 – In an effort to attract qualified bus drivers to help meet expanding transportation needs, the Spring Independent School District has announced a Transportation Employee Referral Bonus for current employees who help recruit experienced drivers. Through June 30, the district is offering a $200 bonus to employees who refer successful candidates for current bus driver openings.
“We are always looking for experienced drivers to grow our transportation team,” said Spring ISD Transportation Director Keith Kaup. “What’s especially exciting right now is that, through a combination of community support for last year’s bond measure and the continued commitment of our administrative team and our Board of Trustees, we’re expanding our transportation offerings and increasing service to a one-mile radius this fall. That means more buses serving more students on more routes throughout our district – and it means more drivers, too.”
In order to qualify, referred candidates must be new applicants to the district who hold a current Texas Commercial Driver License (CDL) with passenger and school bus endorsement. Additionally, they must list the name of the referring Spring ISD employee on their online application and ultimately be hired as a full-time driver for the district and work for 90 days for the bonus to be awarded.
