HOUSTON – Sept. 25, 2018 – Spring ISD is mourning the loss of Jeffrey Mitchell, a former Spring ISD Board Trustee, who passed away on Sept. 21, 2018. Mr. Mitchell was appointed to the Board in August 2007 to fill a position that was vacated, and he was elected to the Board in November 2008 serving until November 2011.

He devoted much of his time to benefit the district. In 2007, Mr. Mitchell served on the Bond Advisory Committee and co-chaired the political action committee that supported the passage of the 2007 Bond referendum.

Mr. Mitchell lived in Spring for many years along with his wife Gretchen, who works for the Spring ISD Police Department. Their two children are graduates from Westfield High School, and they have three grandchildren attending Spring ISD schools.

A memorial service for Mr. Mitchell will be at 12 noon on Saturday, Sept 29 at Fallbrook Church, 12512 Walters Road, Houston, 77014
