It was a morning full of smiles, cheers, and surprise celebrations as the Spring ISD Communications team made their way across the district on Oct. 3, to recognize this month’s ClassDojo Champions—a dedicated teacher and a spirited campus that are redefining what strong school-to-home communication looks like.
The morning began at Smith Elementary School, where teacher Sendy Gallo was honored for her exceptional use of ClassDojo to strengthen communication with families. Known for keeping parents engaged with frequent updates, photos of classroom activities, and snapshots of students in action, Gallo has turned the platform into a bridge between home and school.
This recognition came as a surprise to Gallo, who said that using ClassDojo has opened new channels of communication between her and her students’ parents.
“I am truly honored and grateful to be selected as the September ClassDojo Champion,” said Gallo. “Using Dojo has transformed the way I connect with families and celebrate students’ learning every day. [The app] has helped strengthen the bond between school and home. Parents love seeing photos of classroom activities, and students are motivated by customizing their avatars and tracking their positive behavior points.”
After celebrating at Smith, the Communications team headed to Reynolds Elementary School, where the energy was sky-high.The Armadillo Nation welcomed the team with cheerleaders, excitement, and applause as the campus was recognized as ClassDojo Campus of the Month.
Reynolds earned the honor thanks to its high participation rate among both parents and teachers, as well as the impressive number of messages exchanged through the platform.
Principal Tim Livingston also acknowledged the hard work of everyone on campus, giving special thanks to his top ClassDojo teachers.
“I am so proud of our Armadillo Nation,” said Livingston. “This recognition isn’t just about me, it’s about every teacher, staff member, and parent who makes Reynolds Elementary a place where students thrive. Thank you for embracing ClassDojo and helping us build such a connected community.”
Spring ISD encourages parents to download and use ClassDojo as a tool to stay connected, track their children’s progress in class, view photos of students participating in activities throughout the day, and communicate directly with teachers.
