Hace tres años, Valeria Ramírez, de tan solo 8 años, llegó a Estados Unidos procedente de Cuba con una maleta llena de sueños e ilusiones de un futuro mejor. Sin embargo, pronto tuvo que enfrentar un desafío que muchos niños inmigrantes conocen muy bien: aprender un nuevo idioma mientras se adaptaba a una nueva escuela, una nueva cultura y una forma de vida muy distinta a todo lo que había conocido.
