HOUSTON – April 16, 2018 – With the recent release of SAT scores, many Spring ISD 11th-grade students and their parents may be wondering what happens next. To answer their questions and to help them take the next steps on their way to college, Spring ISD is hosting a Class of 2019 Informational Meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 26 at the Spring High School cafeteria for both parents and students.
“Offering our students the support they need to go on to college is one of our highest priorities. We already provide free SAT testing to all our juniors, and this informational meeting is designed to take them to the next level,” said Spring ISD College Readiness Coordinator Carlos Gonzalez.
Students who attend the meeting along with their parents, will get answers to numerous questions they might have, including what their SAT scores actually mean, what colleges and universities require of potential students, what benefits they can receive from the College Board, and what scholarships have to do with their test scores.
In addition, they will learn what they need to place on their to-do list to accomplish prior to July 1 when students may begin applying to Texas colleges at ApplyTexas. Students are asked to bring their SAT score report to the meeting.
For more information, students and parents may contact their school’s college counselor.
