Spring ISD Superintendent Dr. Lupita Hinojosa has been named the Distinguished Superintendent of the Year by the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) Education Council 402, a prestigious honor recognizing her exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to education advocacy. The award was presented during LULAC’s 60th Anniversary Awards and Scholarship Gala, where Hinojosa’s contributions to education and the community took center stage.

LULAC, the nation’s oldest and most respected Hispanic civil rights organization, introduced the Distinguished Superintendent of the Year Award this year to honor leaders who exemplify a dedication to educational excellence, inclusivity, and advocacy. Hinojosa’s selection marks a milestone, not only for her career but also for the district she serves.

“Dr. Hinojosa stood out for her exceptional leadership, her ability to inspire others, and her historic role as the first Latina Superintendent of Spring ISD,” said Cj Ortiz Alves, 2nd Vice President of LULAC Education Council 402. “Her passion for education advocacy aligns with our core values and mission to provide high-quality education for all students.”

Hinojosa, who has dedicated more than 30 years to the field of education, expressed gratitude for the recognition. “I am deeply honored to receive this award from LULAC, an organization whose legacy has uplifted countless students and families across the nation,” Hinojosa said. “As educators, we build bridges to a brighter future for our students, and this award is a testament to the power of collaboration and community support.
